About Us
A handloom brand born inside a working homestay, rooted in the living craft of Kuthampully, Kerala.
Where a Homestay
Became a Brand
Anamala Homestays was never just a place to sleep. Set deep in Kuthampully — Kerala's most celebrated handloom village — it was conceived as a living encounter with craft. Guests arrived to the sound of pit looms, woke to the smell of sizing thread, and left with a handloom piece they had watched being made.
Over time, the ask became consistent: "Can we take one home? Can we gift one?" Anamala Handlooms is the answer to that question — a direct channel between the weaving families of Kuthampully and people who care where things come from.
Every piece we sell is made within walking distance of the homestay. There are no middlemen, no outsourced production, and no power looms. The brand is the homestay, and the homestay is the craft.

A Village Built on the Loom
Kuthampully's story is inseparable from the Devanga weaving community who settled here generations ago — and from the Bharathapuzha river that sustained them. Understanding where our sarees come from means understanding this village.
